Answering Jesus' call to serve the most vulnerable in Uganda by building a medical center
Construction of Hospital
On January 14, 2023, ceremonies were held to commence the construction of the Lazarus Ministries medical center. Hundreds of people attended, including local government officials and news reporters.
Construction will be completed as money allows, with the hospital being built floor by floor. Once the first floor is completed, the hospital will be ready for patients and will serve as a local health clinic.
Currently, the hospital is staffed by local nurses who assess and monitor patients, with sicker patients being sent off to bigger cities. As the ministry grows bigger, Lazarus Ministries is looking to hire a doctor who will staff the clinic and provide more comprehensive medical care.

About Us
Our Story
Our founder, Father Deus (second on left), was born and raised in Green Valley in southern Uganda. In 2020, while working as a chaplain for a medical center in Danville, IL, father became acutely aware of the disparities in healthcare between his home village and the United States. He was troubled over the fact that during this pandemic, his family and friends back at home would have to face enormous obstacles to receive medical care. In April of 2020, Father Deus felt God nudging his heart to do something- that is where Lazarus Ministries was born. The name was chosen to honor Father Deus' late uncle Father Lazarus, a man known for his love and service of the poor.

Our Inspiration
Luke 16:19-31
In the gospel of Luke, the story of the rich man and Lazarus is told. Lazarus, a beggar, lays outside of a rich mans house begging for food, but is ignored and left for dead. Later when both the begger and rich man die, the rich man looks up from the flames of Hell and begs Lazarus in heaven for a drop of water to "cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire". The rich man is told "son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony". We believe that as Christians we are called to serve the less fortunate in this life- in order to give glory to God now and in the next life.

Current Clinic
Currently in Green Valley, there is one health clinic or "dispensary". This clinic is staffed by local nurses. There is one make-shift ambulance to transport critical patients to and from the clinic, but rarely any medications to administer and the clinic can mostly offer supportive care. Villagers must travel many hours over difficult terrain to the larger city of Entebbe to receive better medical care.

Future Clinic
January 2025
Our goal is to create a state of the art clinic to provide urgent medical care and stabilization to locals and the surrounding villages. Ground was broken on the new facility in January 2023 and construction will take place over the course of two years. Building the hospital is a local construction company on the land pictured above.
